Industrial gas is a group of materials that are specifically manufactured for use in industry and are also gaseous at ambient temperature and pressure.
What Industrial Gases do we produce?
Locally, in Luanda, Soyo and Cabinda, we produce the following Industrial Gases: OXYGEN, NITROGEN, ACETYLENE and CARBON DIOXIDE.
3.1. Oxygen Gas (O2): Oxygen has numerous uses in steelmaking and other metals refining and fabrication processes, in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, petroleum processing, glass and ceramic manufacture, and pulp and paper manufacture. It is used for environmental protection in industrial effluent treatment plants and facilities.
3.2. Nitrogen Gas (N2): Industrial uses of nitrogen are diverse. However, our focus in this article will be on the oil and gas industry as our first clients to whom we have been supplying such gas. (Also, Nitrogen is important to the chemical industry. It is used to make fertilisers, nitric acid, nylon, dyes and explosives).
3.3. Acetylene Gas (C2H2): Applicable in Welding and Metal Fabrication: Still, many welding companies continue to use a huge amount of acetylene. And that’s because it is an ideal fuel gas for welding steel, metal materials, spot heating, and cutting. Welding companies also use acetylene for thermal spraying, flame cleaning, and flame hardening materials. An important industrial raw material, acetylene is used to produce solvents and alkenes, which, in turn, serve as monomers in plastic production. It is also utilized in brazing, cutting, flame scarfing, and metallurgical heating and hardening, and in the glass industry.
3.4. CARBON DIOXIDE GAS (CO2): Gas is a versatile industrial material, used, for example, as an inert gas in welding and fire extinguishers, as a pressurizing gas in air guns and oil recovery, and as a supercritical fluid solvent in decaffeination of coffee and supercritical drying. The carbon (and oxygen) in CO2 can be used as an alternative to fossil fuel in production of chemicals, including plastics, fibres and synthetic rubber.
